I’m very excited that my friend (and idol) Nick Williams (with Abigail Browning) will be instructing a Summer Lindy Hop workshop series in Raleigh, NC at the local Arthur Murray on Capital Blvd. here in Raleigh that I base the larger part of my dance instruction out of.  Workshop classes will be July 12-13.  Nick will also be teaching privates and several special classes in the Triangle on Thursday and Friday at the Arthur Murray dedicated to dancers crossing over from ballroom and other areas that are absolutleyt from beginners.  This is an awesome way to get a friend involved in swing with one of the world’s best!!!.  See the class schedule for information on these events,

Who is Nick Williams?

“World Lindy Hop Champion”

Nick Williams has embodied the passion and spirit of swing dancing ever since his first lesson in 1998. His in depth understanding of Lindy Hop, Balboa, and Collegiate Shag stem from studying with the original dancers. Nick’s desire for authenticity, combined with his passion for dance evolution, leads to a style known for precision, lightness, and dynamic energy.  Above all, he exhibits musicality, creativity, and continuity.

His successes include World Lindy Hop Champion, U.S. Open Swing Dance Champion, American Lindy Hop Champion, and American Classic Balboa Champion. He is also an accomplished choreographer and has been featured on the hit television show So You Think You Can Dance?

As an instructor, he is known for his ability to break down movements and technique to create a fun and light-hearted learning environment. His true love for music and dancing will forever inspire

This year at All Balboa 2007 was EXCELLENT!!!  Frankie Hagan competed with Abi Leggette in the Open and Laura Windley in the Amateur.  Frankie assisted Laura in placing 8th in the Amateur and he himself finished fourth in the Jack & Jill.   The following link take sou to the trailer for the upcoming DVD:

Some months back Frankie Hagan worked with fellow choreographers Sue Hawn and Chad Stall on a promotional movie trailer for a film contest with a diector/producer doing a comedy period piece.  The following link is for the trailer.  Frankie is dancing with Rachel Harder in this clip!

Frankie is available for deejay service or individual or group dance instruction at colleges, churches, military institutions, and various social organizations. Lessons or classes can be scheduled for a single event or continuing series.

Deejay events can be scheduled through companies that Frankie works with in specific cities. Frankie works with Island Sound Deejay Services in Raleigh, NC. He may be contracted for deejay service or consulted on specific music styles.

Frankie is also a contributing writer for Retro Radar (formerly Atomic Magazine) and Port Halcyon and can review your CD if it is of an appropriate retro or dance genre.
